Venn supported Pembrokeshire Coastal Forum (PCF) with its application for funding for the proposed Marine Energy Test Area (META) in the Milford Haven waterway. Venn used its development experience to provide input to development planning, project scheduling and risk assessment. The application was successful and PCF has secured £1.2 million from European Regional Development Fund for the development of META project, see www.marineenergywales.co.uk/eu-funding-awarded-for-marine-energy-test-site-in-wales/
Venn worked with Dragonfly Project Delivery Ltd and Salacia Marine Ltd to undertake a detailed feasibility study for Pembrokeshire-based GreenSeas Resources Ltd that looked at the management of seaweed in the Milford Haven waterway. The study explored the nutrient issue in the waterway (caused by run-off from fertiliser use in the region), the potential for Payment for Ecosystem Services (PES), options for seaweed collection, and commercial uses for the seaweed that is collected.
